new STA Enemy Territory league...

Posted by Bane
6
STA is excited to announce its first season of Enemy Territory league play. The STA-ET admin staff have been working together on rules, cfg's etc, and participating in development and testing with Bani for his new ET-Pro mod. Sign-ups are now open. Default match days are Thursdays, default match time 9:30 pm est

For those unfamiliar with the league, STA-Wolf was the first rtcw league to incorporate pb guid listing on rosters, to include custom maps in regular and post season play, and to use panzer limits. We remain the only league to host an All Star game (Pro Bowl), intra-clan matches and to enforce mandatory pb_ss (punkbuster screen shots) as part of our cfg. We will continue these traditions in STA-ET while promoting a fun and fair gaming experience. There will be no tolerence for cheats or poor sportsmanship. Teams/players looking for fun, friendly and competitive game play are encouraged to join =) Sign-ups, questions and other inqueries welcome.

#et-cup Nr. 3 on Sunday!

Posted by EasyRider

Taken from PlanetWolfenstein.de: "The third version of #et-cup will be played on Sunday, 7.9.2003. During our break, the Tourneyscript was completely rebuild and also some changes were made on the official cuppage.

As always, we will have a Sing-Up for 40 Teams, the first 16 Teams who will Check-In on Sunday will play this cup. Like in the past, we will play Single Elimination with only one stopwatch round each map. If no team scores and a draw is the result, a "knife-round" must be played to get a winner. The places are equal to the "knife-round" where to decide which team starts as Axis or Allies.

The Sign-Up is oppend with this moment, but be sure to Check-In in time (Sunday, 17:30), if you want to play this third cup. All needed informations can be viewed on our cuppage, just check out 'Show Details'. For any kind of help, just ask an admin on IRC #et-cup.

Good Luck to all Teams!"

Chavo One has posted a single screenshot update of his much anticipated mapping masterpiece called "Venice".

"This screenshot represents the halfway point of the map. Once the allies escort the tank to this church, the spawn points move and the axis have lost ground."

Visit his website at the link above for older screenshots. This is one map you do not want to miss!

Since discovering ET and the mapping world. Canadian sound designer Vance Dylan has been gearing up his team of foley artists, sound fx editors and composers.

"I'm really excited to be taking this new venture in audio for games and especially ET. I'm amazed by the game, the community, the maps with all the potential. I'm looking forward to meeting new mappers and taking the maps to new places sonically. It's going to be fun"

Vance intends on getting together with some people out there who are producing quality maps on a regular basis and supplying them with free custom composed soundtracks, themes and sound fx.

Atlantic Wall

Lennyballa has released a version of "Atlantic Wall" he is calling a final version but he is still collecting bug reports in the Splash Damage forums. Just by looking at the screencaps I can see that this map has slowly evolved and improved from it's initial beta release. Personally I just wish map makers would not use the word "final" until after a lot of beta testing has been done. Expect another "final" version after this "final" version.

Update: The author of the map has corrected me. He did not call it "final" but refers to it as "full" version. The difference being that you don't feel hungry for a few hours after playing it? wink
