Menzel, who's made RTCW maps as Tundra Outpost, Foofighter and Normandy Breakout, is currently working on a Enemy Territory map called Wacht Am Rhein.

It's based on the Battle of the Bulge and set in a small semi-destroyed village in the Ardennes. The Axis are on the offensive, moving quickly to try and push through the allies lines before they can mount a formidable defense. In order to win they must escort a tank through the forest, into the town and destroy the church doors. Once the doors are blown they must destroy the allied command center located inside the church.

He has released 4 promissing screenshots which can be found here
A public beta can be expected after 2 weeks.

    Up Coming map: Stonehenge

Cyanureill is working on a promising looking map called stonehenge. He writes on his website:

The first idea was to make a deathmatch game in a place known by everybody: Stonehenge. I studied some photos of the place and made the rocks structure very similar to it. After it i began to create an apropiate landscape to make the map "close". This process flowed into a more architectonic place that is not faithful with the original, but it is more playable than a flat and empty field.

    Heron

New version of the original Heron tool, after request of many people:

    • Added a bind to activate/deactivate timer

    • Apparently for some people this might be handy. It deactivates the timer completely.

    • Rewrite of timer mechanism

    • Previous version weren't accurate on spawn messages. All depending on system clockspeed.

In this version it *should* be fixed, 30 seconds == 30 seconds.

    Remagen Bridge Reaches Alpha Stage

Remagen Bridge by BXpress has reached alpha version and is available for download here.

BXpress has based this map around an actual bridge and has researched a lot of historical data and photos. He has even visited the bridge as it exists today and taken reference photographs. You can see many of his photos and more screencaps of his map in the Splash Damage forums.

There are reports there are some technical problems with this release so I recommend that you skip this version unless you are a die hard fan of it or just wish to try it for the heck of it. Personally I am going to wait for the next version.

The 1.02 patch for ET is out and it looks like it is a patch that everyone should download. The first patch (version 1.01) was a server side patch that only really was required by people that hosted games. The new patch looks like it is something everyone should get.

Download Windows 1.02 ET patch from Enemy-territory.com.
Download Windows 1.02 ET patch from Fileplanet.
