The awaited release of BaconET came two days ago, and the only offer I can give for not posting about it earlier concerns Social Services. Fortunately, bacon the maker has provided me with enough pun opportunities to last well into the night. Players fond of the new 2.6 patch do not have to give up bacon's features, because fortunately the code has been made kosher with the new patch, unlike real life.
Whether you like it streaky or darned over-done, bacon has enough cvars to make any cows want to moo about it:
* Added class command so players can easily change classes
without needing to use team (command: class).
* Added all weapon instagib (cvar: b_modifier).
* Admins can specify the forced limbo HP (cvar: b_limboHealth).
* Sniper Rifles can kill anybody with 1 headshot (cvar: b_misc).
* Players can remove ranks (cvar: cb_drawRanks).
* Players can send each other private messages (commands: m, priv; cvar: b_priv).
* Added team deathmatch (g_gametype = 6).
* Players who are not ready in warmup or intermission have before their names.
* Admins can specify an intermission time (cvar: b_intermissionTime).
* Admins can display banners (cvars: b_banners, b_bannerTime, b_bannerLoc).
* Admins can display text at the top of the screen (command: bp).
* Medics can steal players from another team (cvar: b_steal; MUST BE FORCED TO 1 TO ENABLE).
* Players can start with XP (cvar: b_startSkill).
* Added cvars to control skill upgrades (cvars: skill_battleSense, skill_engineering, skill_firstAid, skill_signals, skill_covertops, skill_commander, skill_lightWeapons, skill_heavyWeapons).

Milk the download for all its worth here
Also, no logos seem to be available for the mod, so the next closest thing came from a gewgle search:
Over at World Wide Gaming, Capslock Trojan has arranged a nice little (well, hopefully big) prefab competition to coincide with the launch of their new-look website. All who wish or are interested in entering are encouraged to do so.
All submissions must be entered by May 15th 2005.
Any prefab not requiring a .script file will be accepted.
All prefabs submitted will be inserted into a display map for public viewing and download
A downloadable display map is available here
A comprehensible list of rules can be found here
It sounds interesting to me, and I look forward to seeing the results. Hopefully this contest can really gather some steam.

pOiSoN would like to let us know of a new Wolfenstein website soon to be up and transferring through people's 56k modems, which he hopes will rapidly grow in both popularity and a community following.
The website will be part of TheWorksNetwork, and, as you will see if you click the link that it will be part of a group (not franchise, thats a trashy American word) of websites, dedicated to other games such as Grand Theft Auto, The Sims, Metal Gear Solid, and ...er, Rollercoaster Tycoon.
Moreover, they are also searching for new staff members, so if you should really be in a retirement home, but find that too active, you could always apply to become either a:

Marko, our beloved mapper and all round genius, has posted me a note that says he has changed the DNS of his website, due to some problems for some of his website guests.
Because of DNS problems on his internet service provider, the
address http://marko.hd.free.fr is now available
on the following DNS: http://noobinated.no-ip.org
It is also worthy to note that once the problems are fixed with the original DNS, the second one will still remain running meaning guests will have two doors in which to enter. But will you pick the red door, or the blue door?
As a side note, three new MLB maps have been released:
For those of you not yet running Firefox, the fastest growing internet browser, here is another reason to switch. Mozilla has released version 1.0.3 of Firefox, fixing several security issues as outlined in the release notes. The files for Windows can be downloaded from here (local US mirror ~ 4.7MB), and those for other languages and OS - from here. If you already have Firefox, the update should download and install automatically, but it's always good to be safe.
Fixed in Firefox 1.0.3:
MFSA 2005-36 Cross-site scripting through global scope pollution
MFSA 2005-38 Search plugin cross-site scripting
MFSA 2005-39 Arbitrary code execution from Firefox sidebar panel II
MFSA 2005-40 Missing Install object instance checks
MFSA 2005-41 Privilege escalation via DOM property overrides
I'm ashamedly stealing a bit of `DG`'s news over from ETNation from 3 days ago, but it is still interesting and noteworthy. I know DG browses this site, so thanks go to you m8
